Audix D6

The pollar opposite of the d12, the d6 is definately “metal” sounding.
Notched where you normally notch bass drums, boosted where you normally boost bass drums, it is supposed to deliver a “ready made sound”. That said, can’t recall the last time we used it on bass drum. On floor toms, bass amps, even vocals, yes.

EDIT: we found a really nice spot inside a bass drum for it, combined with a diy subkick.
